The Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio

The Kennedy Center's beloved Chamber Ensemble-in-Residence has been the reigning exemplar for the piano trio for more than 40 years and has played in every Terrace Theater season since its opening in 1979. We hope you will join us in welcoming "the greatest piano trio on the face of the Earth" (The Washington Post) back into their revitalized home as Joseph Kalichstein, Jaime Laredo, and Sharon Robinson dazzle audiences once again with a stunning program of Beethoven's most famous and beloved trios.

Notes from Joseph "Yossi" Kalichstein, Artistic Director of Fortas:

“Beethoven’s Piano Trios track most of his entire creative life—from the amazing opus one ( the third of which, the c minor, is the fully formed volcano we immediately recognize) to the sublime “ Archduke”, written when his deafness prevented him from playing. We constantly marvel anew at his restless imagination, his life-giving energy, and his emotional struggles. Still takes our breath away...”
